       The smile and the frown

A frown is a smile turned upside down,
An expression of debase.
A smile is a frown just turned around,
Manifestation of grace.

There is a distance between the two
The frown has a sense of no
And with the slightest turn of cheek
A smile turns it to bravo.

These simple symbols that we bear
In the movements of our face
Has a world of difference in its flair,
With the smallest grace of space.

Language ancient beyond our known
The simplest turn around,
A statement that we all are prone
And the effects are profound.

And I'm sure the smile and the frown,
Were both invented by a clown.

Seymour, Both so delicately connected, yet so far apart, you described them well my friend.

I've turned this frown   around and I've given it a smile  .  Well written and I love the way you've described our two most used facial expressions.

So true and can make the world of difference to those around you as well as how you or they, see your world...up or down, wrinkled or smooth, nothing matches a twinkle or a tear...

It matters not the time
it matters not the place
when ever I read your words
it brings a smile to my face

when ever I'm feeling low
and my smile is upside down
your poems make it right ...
make me smile like a circus clown
