Earth 3rd Rock from the sun!!

0 posted 2000-07-05 03:20 PM

We talked for hours on that roof top bar
exposing all your hurt to me under the stars
forgetting for a moment that I only need a friend
dreading that the night is soon going to end
so much in common right from the start
you spoke to me straight from your heart
though we met only hours before
it began to seem like so much more
i am cautious of moving too fast
fearing to live up to the ghost of the past
don't be offended by my fears
it is just that i've cried too many tears
getting to know you in a special way
lovers or friends? we'll find out someday
searching for answers in my soul
wanting a friendship that can only grow
seemingly endless the night drew cold
in the end the sign on my heart said sold....

Julie :)

If you only knew how these words hit right now.  This speaks volumes of a situation I find myself in and am approaching with caution.  It is however as you said, already sold.  Thanks for sharing with such wonderful timing.

I'm "sold" on this one. Like the sincere feelings.

How well I know the feeling of caution...then saying the hell with it and throwing caution to the wind...sometimes you win...like i did.

Wheeee!  Geez I love that feeling.  When you just know that there's something between you, even though you've just met.  Trepidation, anticipation and finally, realization!

Great poem, Julie.  Got me thinkin'!

Really nice thoughts Julie...I have met women that I liked immediately and they were sold right away and sometimes it takes awhile to appreciate them and sometimes it is a no sale...I have been a no sale too many times...James
