She leans on the wooden fence
Surrounding the meadow
The sun beats down on her
Casting forth a dark shadow

She slowly scans the horizon
Searching for his form
She spots him in the shade
Seeking shelter from the warm

He is the most magnificent
Specimen she's ever seen
His perfect muscular frame
Moves effortlessly over the grass of green

A chestnut brown stallion
He was a sight to behold
Galloping in the meadow
He looked so strong and bold

She was captivated by his beauty
And watched him as he grazed
The way his eyes shone
Left her simply amazed

LoneWolf~
Gazing on the beauty of the horse
is to gaze on magnificence ...

Lovely, lovely thoughts.

Great twist at the end, at first I thought that you were referring to a man, only to see that you were praising the beauty of a horse. They are magnificent creatures!  Well written!

Take care,

JA - LW may have been using the horse as a metaphor of the man, Or maybe a mixture of both to get you thinking .
A very clever poem .
I enjoeyed it loads, It was simple in it's complexity .

Lone Wolf I felt like I was in that meadow looking at the brown stallion...I wish I was in that meadow...my last name "Lee" means one who dwells in the meadow.   James
