In the winds of Cherokee song

"The Journey"

The reservation has been made
The journey is one we must take
No set time...
No set date...
Just part of life we cannot forsake

The tickets were purchased long ago
By that which we know as fate
No set time...
No set date...
Just a trip for which we must wait

The station is in our dreams
The journey within our hearts
No set time...
No set date...
Just destiny in which we take part

Hold true to the belief in love
Doubt not the power it can give
No set time...
Not set date...
Just an appointment for which to live.

may your roads rise up to meet you ...
may they be paved in gold,
may you live all your dreams ...
may you know love ... and all its secrets untold.

excellent Mark..
I liked the repetition in this...
made it read like a cool song...
liked the hope and promise in it as well...
take care, jm

As I was reading I began to think it was about a couple who were "engaged to be engaged"..you surprised me. Good luck and hope you time is soon.

Mark:  I loved the way you put this.  I can relate to it but in my case, I felt that way months ago.  I went ahead to meet that friend and since then I've written many poems because of it. I hope you will meet your friend soon.  I know in my case, I'm so glad I did. Beautiful writing Mark! I loved it!

I like very much the idea you promote with this poem, Mark...the idea of a journey of fate. Lovely.
