On the great stage of life
The drama begins to unfold
From the moment of your birth
Until the story is told

There's act after act
Many roles to be played
Never knowing what's to come
Which emotions will be displayed

Today could be a comedy
Full of laughter and fun
Or maybe it'll be a drama
That has only just begun

Tomorrow could be a tragedy
That pulls at your heart's strings
Or maybe you'll meet an angel
Who just earned her wings

Regardless of the senario
Fate sends knocking on your door
You will never forget
Any costume that you wore

The world is the stage
On which you do perform
Friends are there to help
Providing shelter from the storm

The scenery will change
As time moves slowly on
One day you'll see a rainbow
The next it will be gone

You may sit in the study
Or lounge around the den
Live your life for now
Or dream of one day when

Like all good things
This show will one day end
Could turn out to be sooner
Than the actors do intend

When your time is up
The curtain will be slack
The spotlight will begin to dim
Then gently fade to black

Lone Wolf: Wow!!! You've just described my week. I must have worn every single costume this week, and some of the heart break drama one's I wore more then once.  Is that pathetic or what? LOL.

This poem is so deep. Very true and very thought provoking. I loved it!

I agree with Jeffery, your poems just get better and better.  I, too, have played many roles in my life, some I regret, some I am proud of.  Your poem is very well written with flair, Shakespeare couldn't have written it better himself.  This has my vote, it would be a great addition to the book

Take care,

BDC . . . Thanks for noticing the wings.    No, no writes here!!  One trip, give it your all and make it good.  Thanks, my friend.

Melissa . . . We have all played those roles.  Not all are glamorous, but they all fit a purpose and have a part in the story.  Thanks for the compliment on my writing and for the vote.
