The Gummi

The glory of the mountain gum
Green and blue and red brown hues
How they dance in the setting sun

A place of cold clean crisp still air
Winter snow and blinding summer ray
Just to walk on through will dispel your cares

The pitch-black nights, stars shine so near
A deafening chorus or deathly silent
Wake to frosty morn' so fresh and clear

Straight tall timber, canopies thick and green
Blots out the sun where rivers run
Wilderness, the likes of which man has not seen

The Gummi flows fresh and clean
Frigid waters teaming with life
Meandering through glorious scene

Creatures born there wild and free
Such majestic beauty, so unique and rare
Surely! Must be nature's gift to you and me

God grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change, the courage to change the one I can, and the wisdom to know it's me. ~Unknown
