They walked along the railroad tracks,
That edged the white capped lake,
Holding hands, stealing a kiss,
Oh, the memories they would make.
Teenagers feeling they owned the world,
Making plans for their future years,
No doubt in that one moment,
They would conquer all of their fears.
There would be a beautiful wedding,
These two kids would make it, they'd see,
They'd buy a house with a picket fence,
And have children to bounce on their knee.

Today they're walking the same path,
Still walking hand in hand,
He's graying at the temples,
She too has many a strand.
They have the house they wanted,
In that home they raised two boys,
A picket fence surrounds the yard,
That was once filled with toys.
Oh yes, they've made many memories,
Together they'll make many more,
Fondly remembering those two kids,
Who fell in love at the lakes battered shore.

Bonnie, this is so sweet!

I'm grabbing my hat and coat
I'm leaving the cat a note
Quick call me a ferry boat-getting out of town!

this has a distinctly pleasant read, it flowed and the story was precious.
