What I Do that BUGS Some Folk, and What I Do Because of It.... |

What I Do that BUGS Some Folk, And What I Do Because of It… Hear the giggles, hear the whispers, hear the twitterings “look at her, here she comes” their whispering voices ring… and once again, in their small minds, I’m held to ridicule all because of what I was taught, and what I learned in school… Hold your head up, up some more….keep your shoulders straight ~ smile quite big at everyone, lead them to heaven’s gate… express yourself with your laugh, laugh loud and true and strong ~ and when someone needs your help, be then where you belong! Go ahead and volunteer, go ahead and work your very best, make each day a personal challenge, and rise up to the test! Reach right out and touch someone, help to make their day and don’t forget your listening ear, hear everything they say! Don’t forget to give big hugs, and hug until it hurts! Be as comfortable in some slacks as you are in skirts. Keep your hurts just to yourself, always look as though you’ve no troubles of your own, only God should know. Do not then compromise your soul ~ for it belongs to Him. Think all things through before you start, keep slight the little whims. And remember solemnly, all things follow you, So make each day the very best, let others be glad of you. So to the ones who laugh at me, because I smile each day, For you I will go home tonight, and once again I’ll pray “God, please let me understand why they hate me so… and in your time, for them I pray, let their worries go. I just loved this Sunshine ... positive and uplifting! In responding, it reminded me of a line from Desiderata: "Avoid loud & aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit ..." If all they want to do is stop the sun from shining, they don't deserve to have it shine on them. How do you get to be so positive? It's great, but I'm failing at doing it myself, this poem helps mind, I love it. The tragedy of it is that nobody sees the look of desperation on my face. Thousands and thousands of us, and we're passing one another without a look of recognition. |

This poem is an answer to prayer for me, Sunshine. Thanks for sharing it. I wish you worked in my office. I just started there 2 weeks ago and a couple of the people are being mean behind my back, not helping me out(I have no legal background at all, everything I am learning I am basically teaching myself)and are telling lies about me and trying to make me look stupid to the 'big guys'. Thank God that the office manager knows the score and she is looking out for me. This poem is very comforting to me as it puts things in their proper perspective, and so beautifully.
