State of constant confusion!

0 posted 2000-06-28 09:38 PM

I am a lonely teardrop
Falling just for you
Can't you see the pain
In his eyes of ocean blue?
Sitting on a park bench
Here beside the bay
Still clinging to your photograph
Just can't throw it away
'Cause it is all that's left
Of the happiness he once knew
I am a lonely teardrop
Falling just for you

I am a broken heart
Lost, alone and scared
I once knew perfect love
Way back when and where
Too late to say "I'm sorry"
Now that you are gone
Too late to say "I love you,
I know that I was wrong"
You turned and walked away
Like you never even cared
I am a broken heart
Lost, alone and scared

I am a whispered prayer
Of this half-broken man
He prays that he will one day
Find true love once again
He asked God above
To please take his tears away
To leave your memory here
On this park bench by the bay
To take this broken heart
And make it whole again
I am a whispered prayer
Of this half-broken man

I am the gleaming smile
Upon this new man's face
As he tries to look back
To this long forgotten place
It was many years ago
That his heart was broken here
But, he went on to love again
When your memory disappeared
He tries to remember
But, you're gone without a trace
I am the gleaming smile
Upon this new man's face

All my love,
Jeffrey

a great statement on what can lie in one's power.
The poem itself has a great power of compelling conviction.

I liked the progression...from starting out sad to ending with happiness...this is the progression of life...when we are caught in the grip of sadness we think happiness has left us forever...but it will reappear and put a smile on our face....James
