      Long lonely nights with only
the warmth of your image burning
    in my mind...
      Days, longer hotter harder, because
you are close enough to touch, but
    forbidden...
      Sweet pain, everytime our eyes
    meet, rushing through my body
Just the sound of your voice
brings desire, hot strong and oh so
    forbidden...
      Fantasy, dreams winding twisting
and coming up hard against reality
      Because you are...forbidden

Yikes!  This was very intense. A great read.

From experience, the forbidden fruit lingers on your lips and it is impossible to wash away the flavor.

I walk in the garden of Eden
so many forbidden pleasures to conceive
I am weak to the fruit's temptations
they call out to me...they call me EVE

take care, jm

you can say baby
baby can I hold you tonite
maybe if I said the right words
at the right time
you'd be mine
baby can I hold you tonite

Paula Finn...this is the first of yours I've read, but I see that you've been around a little while, so FIRST, a belated WELCOME to Passions!

Really like your piece here...reminds me that it does always seem like the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence...but just remember, it's just because THAT guy spread more fertilizer!

Look forward to seeing more of your work!  Hugs,

Sunny

Paula:  How I relate, how I relate, HOW I RELATE!!! LOL. Forbidden fruit doesn't always mean you can't have a little nibble sometimes. Well, maybe just a little? hmmmmm? lol. This was an amazing poem. Great work!

I'll have to thank Jan for tipping me off about this poem. How did you escape me?
I also live at this site and yet I totally missed all of your poems. A gret poem, really passionate. Sink your teeth into the apple because forbidden fruits should be sampled. look forward to more from you.

That's why forbidden fruits lead us to believe we want them because of the challenge.  Well written, nice imagery

Paula, this reminds me of a Poison Tree by William Blake...in the poem, the speaker kills his foe by tempting him to eat the forbidden apple...dont think this is what you want to hear but that was the image most intensely conjured up in my mind...

Paula*
Very well done.....is it that the fruit is
actually better or the "want what we can't
have" syndrome...I have never been able to
answer that question for myself...lol but
either way it looks very TASTY at times!!!
Thanks for sharing this~

  I know this feeling........
        like I always want what I can't
                           touch......

I'll keep coming back to this one
