In the space between moments

0 posted 2000-06-26 12:28 PM

River water lightly sloshes
Around my limbs of ivory hue
As gently I move between
The worn, liquid paths
Of faithful memory.

The crown of setting sun
Hovers overhead silently
It's amber, velvet touch
Sending fluid shivers
Wafting....falling...
O'er my weary spirit.

There-just beyond twilight's grasp-
Hanging on arms worn with years
Drifts a silvered shadow
Bearing the name of you.

Through the river's aqua sprays
I fight, fall, and fight again
Trying to catch your light
Within my net of stars.

Haunted by devouring night
My tired soul screams and bleeds
Drowning within the swirling waters
That once floated our love...

Somehow I rise to the surface
With the will to search
The faded dreams of our yesterdays
For the smallest tendril
Of you.

I will not give up...for our souls are one.

Krista~
You've got some liquid words here ...
beautifully dripping down the page.

'Through the river's aqua sprays
I fight, fall, and fight again
Trying to catch your light
Within my net of stars.'

Gosh that's a pretty verse.

Liquids words indeed.  This is so filled with imagery and heart that I will probably have to revisit it later.  Thank you for sharing this.  Will be looking for more of your works.

Me likes this... me likes this much... The sadness and a seeming desperation with the glimmer(Seems a little brighter than that) of hope at the end.

"There-just beyond twilight's grasp-
Hanging on arms worn with years
Drifts a silvered shadow
Bearing the name of you.

Through the river's aqua sprays
I fight, fall, and fight again
Trying to catch your light
Within my net of stars.

Haunted by devouring night
My tired soul screams and bleeds
Drowning within the swirling waters
That once floated our love..."

WOW.. now those are some lines, "Trying to catch your light withing my net of stars"  You've caught me in a web of words, for sure.  Absolutely beautiful Krista.

Krista, WOW!! I floated along down the page with this beautiful poem. Excellent!!
It reached out and touched me

and this .....

Somehow I rise to the surface
With the will to search
The faded dreams of our yesterdays
For the smallest tendril
       Of you.

I will not give up...for our souls are one.

GOD, Its BEAUTIFUL!

Yes, I am here, but I am dead, not alive,
my body goes on, my spirit has died,
and I though alive, feel dead inside.
