This poem is one of many written about and for my true love. We were deeply fond of each other for four years, neither never knowing how the other felt. One night, I finally broke down, and confessed my intimate feelings, only to find she, too, felt the same. "I Remember" is about that night.

"I Remember"

I Remember the pitter-patter of the rain,
As it danced on the car roof that night.
I Remember my overwhelming nervousness,
My palms sweating and my tongue tied.

I Remember the talk and the laughter,
And all the silences in between.
I Remember exactly how you smiled that night,
As you had so many times in my dreams.

I Remember the surprise on your face,
When I finally gave into my heart.
I Remember waiting for your answer,
As we sat there in the dark.

I Remember how you looked at me,
As you so nervously gave your reply.
I Remember that last moment of silence,
As I fell deeply into your eyes.

I Remember as our bodies closened,
That feeling of long awaited bliss.
I Remember how my heart cried tears,
As our lips shared that ever passionate kiss.

I Remember everything about that night,
Your smile, your eyes, the smell of your hair.
And whenever our lips meet again in kiss,
Everytime...I'm taken back there.

In the sight of Love, fear isn't even as great as a single hair: in the law of Love, everything is offered as a sacrifice

What a story you have to tell, FadingSun--and how well you told it.
