Together I know we can make it ...
I know we can find the strength to get through.
Anytime I think I'm lost ...
all I have to do is see the light that radiates from you.

You are the sunshine in my day,
you are my reason and my rhyme.
You give me hope to carry on ...
by you ... my life is sweetly defined

I love you my sweet Rachel Rene,
more than you will ever understand.
Well, thats not entirely true ... I know you do,
I know by the way you just reached over and took my hand.
.............

Janet,
This is a very "feeling" tribute to your daughter...My best wishes to you and Rachel...May you see better days...

You definitely touched my heart with this one...Janet,
Take Care,
Regards, sudhir

Death, be not proud, though some have called thee,
Mighty and dreadful, for thou art not so;

How does one adequately say thank you for such amazing, sweet, understanding,
and encouraging replies...
the words thank you seem so inadequate at the moment.
Please know EACH and EVERY one of your
sincere words were heartfelt.
Thank you for all the wonderful E-mails
that were sent as well.
I have said this many times before ...
THIS PLACE IS MAGIC...
GOD BLESS THE POETS.
THANKS AGAIN,
with love and respect,
Janet Marie

Butterflies don't cry but I'm crying my eyes out as I type....Jan this is beautiful and you are such a beautiful mom...no wonder you understand so much about Shane and Monika...Goodness knows I love you and you have just been tucked even deeper in my heart for this one, your strength is amazing.  Marge said it best re: special kids and special mommies...yes you are and yes she is. These are painful diseases for adults...let alone children and to watch your child in pain is every parent's nighmare...**Angel wing Hugs** and you know I'm but a yell away... she has you to lean on and you have someone (quite a few "someone"'s) to lean on too never be afraid to ask. Love you I do!

Wonderful words written by a wonderful mother for a wonderful daughter!

God grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change, the courage to change the one I can, and the wisdom to know it's me. ~Unknown

Just a note to let you know: I had to come back and read this again it was so moving. I hope you don't mind but I made a copy to send my brother. Again a very heartfelt as well as heartrending poem.

Janet,

Add me to the list of those in tears...  Rarely do I respond to a poem and tell how I can relate to what was written, or how a poem expresses how I feel, for I often think those are thoughts best left to one's self.

However, this poem has given me a unique look at a mother's point of view when dealing with a sick child - now I have an inkling of the thoughts my mother must have when her and I talk.  The idea that I have so selfishly avoided her pain in relation to my own situation makes me ill (in my heart).  Your work here has given me a gift, a great gift of sight, and compassion for her.  Thank you.

Yesterday is ash, tomorrow is smoke; only today does the fire burn.

Janny~
First I must say this was a touching and tender poem...thanks for sharing it with us
Second I think that is the hardest thing in life is to see our children in pain and sometimes there is nothing we can do or say to take that pain away. I send my love to you and your daughter and lets hope for a cure to her illness even if it's only to lesson the pain.
Take care Janny girl

I can only begin to imagine the pain that you feel for your daughter.  As a Mom I know how hard it is to accept even the little hurts that you can't heal for them.

You daughter sounds like an amazing young woman, as do you.

Oh Janet Janet! I have been so busy I have'nt been posting on the board lately. I don't know what to say - I felt the emotion swell into my chest to the point it almost overcame me.
What an amazing young woman she must be and you must be so proud.
The following poem is one that we all know but it has always been a source of encouragement to me so I'll just quote it to you because of the positive moral values that it infuses in the heart and mind.

If you can keep your head when all about you
are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
but make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
or, being lied about, don't deal in lies,
or, being hated, don't give way to hating,
and yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise.

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with triumph and disaster
and treat those two imposters just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
or watch the things you gave your life to broken,
and stoop and build them up with worn out tools.

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
and risk it on one turn of pitch and toss,
and lose, and start again at your beginnings
and never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
to serve your turn long after they are gone,
and so hold on when there is nothing in you
except the will which says to them: "Hold on"

If you can walk with crowds and keep your virtue,
or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch;
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
with sixty seconds worth of distance run -
your is the earth and everything that's in it,
and - which is more - you'll be a man, my son!

I know you have a daughter and Kipling is writing this to his son who is going off to war. The spirit and the meaning remains the same for all. The love Kipling is showing here for his son is the same kind of love you have for your daughter. For that same spiritual reason I have to say I love you for loving your daughter so much. Your poet friend E. Lewis True.......

Janet I've read this over and over and everytime I do my emotions overwhelm me. I sit here writing with tears in my eyes not really knowing what words there may be to express adequately what I want to express. This is so touching, emotional and heart warming that I feel no words can do justice of what I want to say.  She has been blessed with a beautiful mother as you and you have been blessed with a beautiful and couragious daughter as her.  Your total and unconditional love shines through in every word of your poem.  I hope that someday someone will come up with something to change her life and make it the way you've always prayed that it would be.  Thank-you so much for sharing this with us.  Take-care and my warmest of wishes goes out to both of you.

Janet Marie~
     A lovelier tribute I have never beheld, my dear.  I know Rachel is very proud of it.  Just rest assured, my friend, you are just as special to me as she is to you.

Love Ya~

This is truly a beautiful, heartfelt poem.  As a new mother myself, I admire your strength and love, for my son's cries of hunger break my heart, when I should be so very grateful, that they are not cries of pain.  Thank you for opening my eyes to this.

I do know a little about Fibromyalgia & Chronic Fatigue, being that my mother has suffered from these for years.  Please email me, and I will be happy to get you some breaking news on a study being done at a local university.
Remember the saying~~"A mother's love is next to God's love"....and your tribute is a definate testimony to that!  God Bless you both!
