If there were no words
For me to use in my songs
How would I be heard
     You for whom I long?
Would you know how I feel
If I could not to you my heart reveal?

If there were no way
For me to tell you my love
How would I to you say
That you are like the truest dove?
Would my voice to you be heard
If I could not sing like the sweetest bird?

If I could not tell
To you the love that I know
If I were under a spell
That would not let my love show
How would you know my heart?
Enter my open arms, it's a good place to start

Where do you get this gift of rhyme?
Could I trade my muse for thine?
For words of love I then could write
and you would get no sleep at night.

Sir Sven
this is sheer beautiful poetry...the ever romantic sven wields his muse and steals the queen's heart...

I might be a moron and be wrong, but I think I see two lines flowing in parallel like a stream...duh? what do I mean...okay..lets do a split...

If there were no words
How would I be heard
Would you know how I feel

If there were no way
How would I to you say
Would my voice to you be heard

If I could not tell
If I were under a spell
How would you know my heart?

and
For me to use in my songs
     You for whom I long?
If I could not to you my heart reveal?

For me to tell you my love
That you are like the truest dove?
If I could not sing like the sweetest bird?

To you the love that I know
That would not let my love show
Enter my open arms, it's a good place to start
...
geez, I must be seeing things now

anyway, I enjoyed reading it very much...

regards, sudhir.

Sven, I admire how skillfully you've accomplished the rhythm pattern in this piece, and the inversion gives it such a timeless feel...wonderfully crafted, my friend.

Sven~
As always, beautiful. You know I was
thinking about you right before reading
this. I was thinking what would I do
if I couldn't read Sven's beautiful and
romantic poems on a regular basis. For you
see you have become a inspiration to me
and many others I'd dare say at this
forum. Thanks so much for sharing your
beautiful and breathtaking work!

Take care.

Thank you to everyone who replied. . . it just amazes me every day how wonderful you all can be. . .

TA, my muse is Romance, simple and pure
a disease for which there is no cure
her light is gentle, her light is bright
she fills my days, she can fill your nights. . .

Sudhir, your analysis is correct my friend!!!  But I really didn't intend it to be that way.  Sometimes, I'll have a form in mind. . . sometimes, not. . . most of the time, I just let it happen. . . like with this poem. . . thank you!!!

Melissa, "the Master?" well, I don't know about that. . . I just write from my heart. . . thank you. . .

Lorraine, thank you so much!!

Claire, thank you my friend. . . can I just say that I didn't plan it this way?

Marge, you're right!  Sudhir does have a heart of gold!!  LOL     But I know that you think that I do too!!!  Thank you my friend. . .

vandana, I see that you've been digging through the archives. . . thank you. . .

Amy, I know that your life would go on if you didn't get to read my work.  I am indeed humbled and touched that you would look at me as an inspiration. . . *Very embarassed!*

LW, thank you so much. . . I try. . .

You are a master of romance...    Your poems seem so heart felt, I'm amazed... Wonderful job, I can't wait for your next one.

Perhaps your sweet song
Is something she did long
But the tune, is wrong

Maybe in the end
Through words she has penned
You will see........you have a friend
