Drink

My heart is the shard,
Suspended in amber glass,
Bourbon.....numbing pain.

Olias, this is very well done. How painful.

so much said in so few perfect painfilled
and well expressed words.
feel better kind poet
take care, jm

It's amazing
How you make your face just like a wall
How you take your heart and turn it off
How I turn my head and you lose it all ...
And it's unnerving
(How one move just puts me by myself)
There you go just trusting someone else
(Now I know I put us both through hell) ...
I'm not sayin
That there was nothing wrong
(I just didn't think you'd ever get tired of me)
And I'm not sayin
(We ever had the right to hold on)
(I just didn't wanna let you get away from me)

She says baby,
It's 3AM ... I must be lonely,
When she says baby,
Well I can't help but be scared of it all sometimes,
Says the rains gonna wash away I believe it.

there is nothing like whiskey or bourbon to kiss away the pain. but these things are only temporary solutions. take care, and be careful that you don't fall into the bottle. a great poem, excellently written.

Drink can numb...very true...it is been my medicine here of late...however I do know that it does not erase, it only covers like whiteout,
guard your soul carefully....be wise. Great writing though!!

Drink is that stuff that prevents you from figuring out how to solve your problems. Steer clear!! Excellent poem though.

Love and hugs,
Lizzie

Very nice painful words.  Glad to hear you only indulge occasionally.  I would miss reading your works.  Well written.

Strong stuff here Olias, and I don't mean the bourbon! Oh... and never put water in your whisky... a waste of the two best drinks God put on this earth
