Stairstep Thoughts

Little
memories running
         through my mind
                   trickling like wine
                             flying like time…

Roaming hills
         on crisp fall nights
                   away from cities
                             and tell-tale lights…

Away from people
         and their thoughts
                   recall scented roses
                             recall forget-me-nots…

Walking
sandy dunes
         still alone
                   oft dreaming
                             of forgotten homes…

Hoping thoughts
         will pave a way
                   to new dreams
                              just for today…

Wandering through
         this field of thought
                   remembering that love
                              can't be taught…

Someday
         I'll watch anew
                   the splendor of love
                              just between two…

but for now
         memories run free
                   of how easy
                              time use to be…

and now all
         that's left for me
                   is the loneliness
                              of my deserted sea.

An oldie but a goodie! The stairstep format is cool, too.

wOw!   I loved this one...kinda mysterious, yet true about how life kinda keeps going and going.  It is sad that we can't freeze time whenever we want to, huh.  Good poem!

Sunshine~
This is just a power packed piece.
I love the formatting that ties it all in
to the title.

          climbing...aw, I am tired...
        climbing...
      climbing...
    climbing...
  climbing...
climbing...

no wonder they make elevators these days
....
but then the beauty is still in the classic staircase...isn't it???

Wonderful poem this, Karilea, I am glad I read this one... I have been away from the 'net' a few days and suddenly there is so much I missed...

regards, sudhir.

How beautifully penned
  your stairs of thoughts
     how lovely is the heart
        of *Sunshine,*
          hoping that one day
            your deserted sea
              will be filled with love,
                 in awe of it's beauty
as we are in awe of yours

Take care,
