I lie here looking at the ceiling
Trying to understand how I'm feeling
My mind is filled with many thoughts
Happiness is what I had sought
Once I held it in my hand
But it slipped through like a grain of sand

Now I try to pierce the dark
With just one solitary spark
Hoping against hope to light a fire
No longer destined to walk the wire
I close me eyes then I can see
A glimpse of what tomorrow can be

The future is full of promise and hope
Just have to climb up the slope
There warm sunshine will abound
Perhaps happiness will again be found
Somewhere on the other side of sorrow
My thoughts are filled with dreams of tomorrow

LW~

It will come one day for you
A light in your life will shine through
maybe not tomorrow or the next
Your emotions also may be put to test

I'm sure in time though a new love will be yours
For you in time a new love endures

~LW,...Even when I just read the title,...oh,...I loved it...hope....so good to hold onto.  I am so glad that you wrote this poem.  It's excellent...and soooo true.  I am here to climb the slope with you.  Really.  I know I haven't been in this room lately but it's so difficult to stay on top of everybody's work,...and I want to read it all, it was just getting tough to stay on top...I needed a lil break.  Again,...I am so happy that you see that the future is full of promise and hope.  Huge hug and smile for you . Take care. *Peace.

Great work L.W. We all need to climb that slope occasionally, and look back to where we've been and up to where we want to go, the top seems more inviting. Keep climbing, its worth every step.

As usual, a great poem penned by you.

I love the lines:

"There warm sunshine will abound
perhaps happiness will again be found
somewhere on the other side of sorrow
my thoughts are filled with dreams of tomorrow."

An uplifting poem, my friend.  Your poem, like life itself gives us two sides of the spectrum, experiencing both happiness and sorrow.  If only, everyone could read this for inspiration

I leave you with this quote that my Aunt Jenny once said, "Remember too the sorrow, for it shall so enrichen the happiness and make for a memory complete."  Reading your poem reminded me instantly of what she had said to me.

Take care,

Lone Wolf, my friend...

this piece slipped by me the first time through,
but I'm pleased to have found this part of you...
for many reasons I will sigh
too many here to list just why...

but you indeed have struck a chord
and like sunlight to Arthur's sword
your soul shines in this piece
and I will pray your writing never cease...

yes, can you tell, I like it???

Lone Wolf,
My dear, I really love this!  I, too, try to find the best I can in the thought of tomorrow.  For, as i have been told, tommorrow is only what we make of it ourselves!

Loved reading this poem...it seems that way sometimes that there is an order of arrangement...there is a time for love and a time for sorrow and then a time for new hope that leads to a beautiful tomorrow...James
