Floating gently on a cloud....

Mystery Musings
~ESP~

Words flow onto an empty page
Breathtaking in their grace and beauty
Then suddenly nothing else appears
The end of my poem I never see

Writing as fast as I can
I attempt to catch the missing verse
Elusive as ever it remains
If anything the situation gets worse

So I try penning the words slowly
Trying to sneak up on what I cannot find
But the A.W.O.L. rhymes and ditties
Remain hidden in the maze of my mind

My page is covered in scratchings out
The destined word is lost somewhere
My heart sent inspiration gaily packaged
But my brain unwrapped it without a care

All the beautiful contents therein
Are lost forever, kept away
I really wish they would reappear
Near, yet so far, is how they stay

Suddenly, when I least expect it
They jump to my thoughts again
Well, would you believe it
A lovely poem I just penned

Lizzie, this one was so flowing, a bright and creative poem...

Lil' Lizzie~
Honey, this is just a perfect example of the wonderful talent you possess.
Those little thoughts can flit in a minute ..
thank goodness they return 'when you least expect them.'

Your writing is so YOU ...
and that is a reflection of the wonderful
young lady I've come to know so well.
Love you, my friend.

This is wonderful, Lizzie! I've gone through this many, many times. I can relate!

"My heart sent inspiration gaily packaged
But my brain unwrapped it without a care."

Those two lines are so true, and said so well! I can't even begin to count how many poems I have started and left unfinished. Great work, Lizzie!

I like the way you expressed this.

'My heart sent inspiration gaily packaged
But my brain unwrapped it without a care'

Such pretty thoughts in your head.
