From a Rainbow, Emerged Hope

There emerged a rainbow, from a rainy sky
When the Sun shone, throwing sparkling rays
Peeping through huge dark clouds so high,
Seven sacred colours, I watched in praise.

Then emerged a wish, from my heart, deep within
I wished upon the rainbow, on its every hue,
This heart mesmerised, by its colours - Green,
Violet, Indigo, Yellow, Orange, Red and Blue.

Then emerged a hope, from this soul's desire,
That, one beautiful day, my wish would be granted,
That, as these colours blend in a harmony higher,
We all would be friends, our world - a rainbow painted.

If we could just learn a simple lesson,
The Way to mingle together in unison
To be like the rainbow's colours, seven,
We would make our place, a grand Heaven.

We would happily reside in this safe haven,
Our children could enjoy having innocent fun
No more need to wage a war, nor have a prison
To seek and destroy, will not have any reason.

How did I miss this one? it is getting harder and harder to keep track of all the poems here.

a beautiful poem filled with hope for the future. Had a big smile after reading this. wonderful.

"I wished upon the rainbow, on its every hue," .This is my favourite line, in a beautiful piece, we all need to wish on rainbows more especially for the sentiments expressed here.
Thankyou

Beautiful work, Sudhir. This reminded me of a song we sang in 6th grade choir, about a man thinking of the day when he will be able to sit on his porch and watch the children play without having to worry about war and violence. The guy who wrote it lived in Israel, I believe. Thanks for the memory and the beautiful poem.

Sudhir,

If only more people saw the world that way, we would never have to worry about war or prejudice.  Great poem with a wonderful lesson.  Fundamentally, we are all the same.  Love the picture of the rainbow you have painted here...beautiful my friend.
