Earth 3rd Rock from the sun!!

I thought of you the other day
thought about our first date
the charming way you'd say my name
how you knew i felt the same
what became of that love?
the one we thought was sent from up above
the scars are fresh, some still open
waiting to heal...yet still hoping
that our love will find a way
waiting to tell you what I dare not say
for the damage is done
our hearts can take no more
lest their left bleeding on the floor
so now enveloped in fear
i hold you close, shed a tear
i know that soon you'll board that plane
and miles away you'll remain...
alone i'll struggle day in day out
and wonder what all the fighting really was about..
the life you gave me, a faded memory
I wanted for nothing, was so blind I didn't see
I had it all, still wanting more
yet still i walked out the door
have me back I know you would
go back I just don't think I could
the good times remain locked deep in my heart
now is the time for a fresh start
I hope i've learned from the mistakes of the past
next time around I will make it last....

Julie :)

The pain can be so intense I often wonder why we yearn for the opportunity to create it again.  Oh yeah...the pleasure is what we are really after,(I almost forgot.)  Hang in there and I hope things are better now or soon get better for you.  Enjoyed the poem.

It seems like this road is familiar to both of us and I can identify with what you are saying completely. What did Richard Bach say:
"There is no such thing as a problem , without a gift for you in its hands,
You seek problems because you need their gifts"
I feel love is pretty much the same
Loved your poem and felt every line

Julie~

this was so heartfelt and moved
me completely! One of your strongest
pieces to date. I loved the depth and
variation of emotion you put into this
one. I can tell it's truly from the
heart...ranging from sadness to confusion
to determination. Excellent!
Take care.

Because once you're there
It's up to you to make it happen."
