The fragrant splendor of the bloom fades fast
Its beauty lost to some forever when
They blindly, to their detriment, rush past;
A chance like this may never come again.
Enjoy the simple pleasures that abound;
Take time to listen as a robin sings;
Around you priceless treasures can be found
Available to paupers and to kings.
Abundant are rare opportunities
Presented to us all with each new dawn;
Wise are the ones who realize and seize
Them long before the golden day is gone.

Be mindful as you go along your way
To make the most of every single day.

"A chance like this may never happen again."
I know this is true...about six months ago I came to the realization that I had missed a wonderful opportunity...and the chance is gone...I'm still looking for new ones and hopefully I will do better next time.  James

Sooo true.  I am another who has missed an opportunity or two in my life.  I am now in the middle of trying to capture one I that I let pass 26 years ago and now have a rare chance of "The 2nd chance".  This touched home really hard.  Thank you.

Oh how lovely the sentiment here, Denise, and what a thoughtful, poetic way of reminding. So very nice!

Denise,

Wonderful piece full of hope.  Great message here . . . each day is what we make it.  Nice writing.

Truer words were never spoken, so wise,
In respect of this poet's verse, I arise.

These words ring and the mind's bells chime,
I bow down paying humble respects this time.

Really enjoyed this Denise, very well written...
