Guitar

Beside my bed you stand,
Head bent low in silent servitude,
Neck slender, catching neons glow,
Fingertips touch lightly, steely sinews,
A sirens whisper " Take me now",

Clasping Adams heart to Eves form,
In fervent phallic ritual, we fly,
You sing for me alone !
A symbiotic coupling of mind and wood,
Where do I end... and you begin,

Half a life spent in jealous obsession,
Making mockery of labour,
Until you have me trapped,
Mother of pearl and coiled wire,
My only release.....
For I am nothing without you.

Well put.  I also have this passion and it brings me many a lost moment well worth the escape.  Keep the passion and the truth.

I can tell you are a musician, and the poem captured me both ways, I feel your passion to music, but also I see this instrument being reflected as a women that you adore....I love it! are you acoustic player?
I bet your music is as lovely as your poem!
Welcome to passions!

Thanks for taking an interest R.H. Your very kind. I must have about 10 guitars all over the house lol,
but I still have my old faithful acoustic and she sits by my bed, we have been through alot together and she fits like an old pair of sneakers.

There is nothing like a graceful guitar solo
I go weak at the knees when I listen to Free bird by Lynard skynard, or motorcycle emptiness by Manic street preachers.
A wonderful poem for a wonderful instrument.

Corinne - I guess I'm obsessed, 12 hours a day for 25 years, I think people will say get a life (lol) Thanks for sharing my obsession.

SEA I have this love hate thing going on, you know cant live with it but cant live without it, thanks for loving my addiction

B.M. I/m  sorry but Freebird has never made me weak in the knees, just in the fingers , that solo is a marathon, but in that instant you get it right, ( well you know what I mean ) Thanks for supporting all that I am

Olias~
Remarkably well-done.
It's evident that you've talent for more than just the guitar.
Welcome to Passion's family of poets and friends.

Very, very well written.
I too share your passion for the guitar, but alas, I have never made the committment which you so obviously have to your art.
I would love to hear you play.

You obviously love your guitar as much as I do. I've got an Ibanez acoustic. Not a bad guitar, sounds a lot like a Gibson. I used to have a lot of electric guitars when I played in a band years ago. I had a hand made Fender Esquire one of the originals with a little silver cap you could put over the pick-up where the strings start at the body. I have never seen one since, although I know they are out there. I had an original Strat (hand made). I had a Gibson Les Paul Jr. soild body red in color with a double cutaway. I had a Swedish Hagstrom black in color very narrow fret board. I wish I had them all now - some would be worth a lot of money but you know how it is, a young fella and his need for quick cash..  Oh great poem by the way!

Notlikely2 - Thanks for your kind words,I see your in the Uk so if your ever in Manchester on a wind blown Friday night I can usually be found on a stage somewhere around town. Friday night is blues night yipee (lol).

Ethome - Sounds like you have had some nice guitars in the past I play an Ibanez (steve vai) on stage now as my main guitar, its a mean machine but I stil prefer my old acoustic thanks for the reply.
