      Reflections from a coffee shop

Sitting, waiting,watching
busy people scamper in
and out again.
Some look around,
few stop long enough for a breath.

I sip my lukewarm coffee,
catch someones eye--look away.
What are they thinking-about me?
Scribble on my napkin.

Where is everyone going,
leaving me behind
with only my thoughts?

Little ones seem to know
the joy of doing nothing-
not compelled to work for a living.

Maybe I am a child,
provided for, cared about,
loved.

Must think about this.
