Loss that rips the breath from life
bind this heart in leaden chains
shackled thus this supplicant's
un-focused eyes survey
landscapes stripped of color
denied contrasting form
no warmth to be afforded
be-moan surcease of joy
rent from unsuspecting arms
replaced by gaping wound
n'er to feel such sweet embrace
bled of of memories fluid
shadow forms of prior self
reflect in pools of tears
that seep into un-caring ground
in rivulets of sorrow
permiating emptiness
robs completely sense of worth
no respite shall be found
here lie
hollow
empty
broken
spent of spirit
bound in fetters of illusion made real
by un-relenting grief

Very painful.

I'm grabbing my hat and coat
I'm leaving the cat a note
Quick call me a ferry boat-getting out of town!

You've described it well, Dr. Moose. Very well done.
