Last year when we met, yes you caught my eye
Your words made me smile, made me laugh, made me cry
But we had other things to learn and to do
My path led me elsewhere, far away from you

But now a full circle, we're back at the start
Wiser for what we have learned while apart
Ready this time for our chance to be together
Will we be just friends or something far far better

Look into my eyes, I am sure that you will see
A future that is filled with such possibility
So come to me now and if you decide to stay
You have my sacred promise, I will never go away

Since the day we met there has been this connection
You ask me what you did to win my affection
How is it I could want you so much from so far
It's nothing you did, I just love who you are...

Read my words you will know my heart
Look in my eyes you can see my soul

I just love who you are....*sigh*
I just love this poem Steve....it makes me happy, and content in a strange sort of way.  Very nice, reading your thoughts.  Thank you for sharing such intimacy into your heart.  I will email you later, with a more in-depth overview.  LOL

It's amazing
How you make your face just like a wall
How you take your heart and turn it off
How I turn my head and you lose it all ...
And it's unnerving
(How one move just puts me by myself)
There you go just trusting someone else
(Now I know I put us both through hell) ...
I'm not sayin
That there was nothing wrong
(I just didn't think you'd ever get tired of me)
And I'm not sayin
(We ever had the right to hold on)
(I just didn't wanna let you get away from me)

She says baby,
It's 3AM ... I must be lonely,
When she says baby,
Well I can't help but be scared of it all sometimes,
Says the rains gonna wash away I believe it.

Coco - thank you very much, glad you liked

Gen -   yes, who you are... If you find someone you love for who they are inside, that very central part of their being then you will love them always b/c that part of us that makes us uniquely who we are changes very little in a lifetime. A persons appearance and/or actions may change...
Happiness, contentment... those are good things. I am very glad my feelings were conveyed to you so clearly   My heart is an open book to my friends, I can't not share it

JM - Always hopeful   What point in trying if we are without hope? You know, I know that you know where this comes from...

Melissa - Thank you for your response

Very romantic, much enjoyed reading this.

Sea of okc,

Beautiful and romantic poem.  What a heart you have there.  It is wonderful.  That is true love...to love someone for who they are.  Great writing.  Thanks for sharing your heart.
