"The Night of No Goodbyes"

In mist of morn, awakens she
to falling floods of rain
his words have poured from Heaven's roof
a trickle, a fresh'ning refrain

Shared syllables thrown on potter's wheel,
a dizzying dared discourse
'tween maiden fair and valiant
masterful knight 'pon poetic horse

She breathes from deepest dreaming silks
as lilac sky prevails
to cling to earth's arising scents
the fragrance of filling sails

And as the sands of lands afar
are shed from out her eyes
awake she now, her drowsy head,
from the night of no goodbyes

Claire, a beautiful poem filled with loss and sadness.

She breathes from deepest dreaming silks
as lilac sky prevails
to cling to earth's arising scents
the fragrance of filling sails

And as the sands of lands afar
are shed from out her eyes
awake she now, her drowsy head,
from the night of no goodbyes

wonderfully written, thanks for sharing.

Brian, thank you for reading. Mostly this was an attempt to express a loss of fantasy, an awaking from a dream. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Ms. Poetde, a special thank you for your encouragement of late...I will look at Voices on the Web. Thanks for reading this one.

Mike, your eloquent kindness is just what I needed today...thank you!

James, and so nice of you to let me know you enjoyed this...thank you, sincerely.

It's amazing
How you make your face just like a wall
How you take your heart and turn it off
How I turn my head and you lose it all ...
And it's unnerving
(How one move just puts me by myself)
There you go just trusting someone else
(Now I know I put us both through hell) ...
I'm not sayin
That there was nothing wrong
(I just didn't think you'd ever get tired of me)
And I'm not sayin
(We ever had the right to hold on)
(I just didn't wanna let you get away from me)

She says baby,
It's 3AM ... I must be lonely,
When she says baby,
Well I can't help but be scared of it all sometimes,
Says the rains gonna wash away I believe it.

I've missed your poetry greatly, Miss Meadowmuse.  And you never dissapoint, and this is no exception....deeply moving, gorgeous, and sorrowful.  I think I shall have to go back and read it again.  Wonderful work.

Claire,
As I echo most of the feelings above, I can state that I enjoyed this one immensely...

Great flow, and enchanting images...

Geir, you are far too kind...thank you..

Sven, do you think? Perhaps if you would be so kind as to share with me your observations, I may be able to comment. I see no significant difference, on my own, but could that be perhaps that it is often hardest for the writer of the words to see them objectively? Please feel free to e'mail me, as I haven't got ICQ.

Olias, thank you, sincerely, for your encouraging response.

Kit, I thank you for reading and letting me know.

Sudhir, for the "enchanting" you have my thanks and regards, as well.
