The night sky is very clear
There is a full moon up above
I wish that you were near
That I could feel your love

I seek out the brightest star
Shining with all its might
I ask to be where you are
On this peaceful night

Setting all other things aside
Nothing would matter but us
Swallow a piece of your pride
Show a display of trust

You know the love we'll make
Would be the absolute best
A tender display of give and take
That could rival all the rest

Instead I have to accept
That I am here alone
All my tears have been wept
Now my heart is hard as stone

I really liked this poem Wolf! well thought out and paints a wondeful picture in my mind - edged with the harshness at the end -

Rich....Thank you.  I knew there just could not be a fluffy ending here.

Lone Wolf,

I can feel the longing within these words...

Instead I have to accept
That I am here alone
All my tears have been wept
Now my heart is hard as stone

Remember, Tomorrow is a brighter day

I'll try to catch you on ICQ tomorrow

 All my love,
Jeffrey

Peppermint....perhaps we have similar souls.  Thanks, I am glad when people feel the emotions behind the words.

Sven....Thank you, I am not sure if it is stone yet or not, but it sure feels like it at times.  Yes, that is how I feel.  Wish it could be a reality sometimes.

SF....Awe, thanks.  My heart just pours out of the pen.  Probably the only thing that has kept me sane.  Hope to catch up with you online real soon.

Jeffrey....Yes, there is much longing.  I remember my friend.  Hope to get you on ICQ too.

LOne wolf this poem is filled with such tenderness and sadness that I know these words did not come from a "heart...hard as stone."

thanks for sharing, a wonderfully written poem.

You know how sometimes you hear a song that touches your soul and it feels like it must have been written with you in mind and just knowing that someone understands brings a tear to your eye...thats what your poem did for me.

Your emotions are beautifully expressed.

LW I can feel your hurt and disillusionment in this. Heart of stone? Well perhaps for a time it will harden but a heart such as yours could never stay that way. Hang in there Hon, things are bound to get better
