The Sea

I saw them
sitting there
holding hands,
speechless,
contented with one another.
I saw the wind
ripple her hair,
felt it quicken his heart,
and I saw his thumb
slowly caressing hers.
I saw the way she smiled
at his touch,
heard her whisper
I love you,
felt his pulse
quicken with joy.
I touched their naked feet
and felt their love
spread through my waters.
I sent a wave
to kiss their knees,
grasp their waist,
I never wanted them
to leave.
I pulled them in,
hugged them tight,
but by all the god's above,
I never meant
to see them die.

JW
this is a very tender, well written poem
with the creative view of being written by the "sea"
the imagery and emotions of the couple was perfect.
very unique poem
with a twist and unusual ending.
excellent writing.
take care kind poet

It's amazing
How you make your face just like a wall
How you take your heart and turn it off
How I turn my head and you lose it all ...
And it's unnerving
(How one move just puts me by myself)
There you go just trusting someone else
(Now I know I put us both through hell) ...
I'm not sayin
That there was nothing wrong
(I just didn't think you'd ever get tired of me)
And I'm not sayin
(We ever had the right to hold on)
(I just didn't wanna let you get away from me)

I think I could need - this in my life
I think I'm just scared - I think too much
I know this is wrong it's a problem I'm dealing

If you're gone - maybe it's time to go home
There's an awful lot of breathing room
But I can hardly move
If you're gone - baby you need to come home
Cuz there's a little bit of something me
In everything in you...

She says baby,
It's 3AM ... I must be lonely,
When she says baby,
Well I can't help but be scared of it all sometimes,
Says the rains gonna wash away I believe it.
