~DON"T~

Don't hold me,
don't love me,
please just turn away,
if you learn to hate me,
then maybe, just maybe
I can convince my heart not to love you,
leave me,
forget me,
please just hate me,
and if you should happen to see a tear fall,
don't look into my eyes,
just keep walking on by,
be blind to my pain,
don't love me,
don't hand me your heart
for, I may never let you go,
I want you,
I need you,
I adore you,
I love you,
but, you deserve better than me,
I realize now that my father was right,
no man could ever truly love me,
there is such an emptiness inside,
so I'm doing this for your own good,
because I love you so much -
I'm pushing you away,
just leave me...alone,
I don't want you to love me,
please just don't,
funny, how my own heart
doesn't believe a word that I have said,
it still loves you

Melissa.. I don't know what to say.I wish there a just one word that could help you see the beauty of yourself. If there was I would proclaim it to the world. I could say that I can in some way relate, I spent much of my life up on till about 2/3 yrs ago with a feeling of emptiness. I felt weak and somewhat worthless. So I on some level know the feelings you are talking about but what I am saying is ranting is meaningless because for you to find that peace that love i know you deserve and are worthy of IT HAS TO COME FROM INSIDE. Melissa listen to your heart and to your soul. I pray that you will find your inner strength and inner love.

a powerful poem, peace and take care.

love,

brian.

Hey Melissa,
Draw a deep breath and muster all courage...
There is hope in everything...Let me remind you that "there is emptiness..." is not even a bit true....

Find your inner strength as brian says and hold on tight, the rough tide will pass leaving you in calmer waters....

Regards and take care,
Sudhir

Melissa~ all you need to do is fill that empty feeling with love, let someone in to love you. YOUR FATHER WAS WRONG!!!! That emptiness is fear, not an inability to love or be loved. Excellent poem.   -SEA

Oh Melissa, I couldn't agree with SEA more!  Your writing is so filled with emotion and power ... gather strength from this and move forward ... there is so much you will enjoy, if you give "yourself" permission.  Take care! Wonderful, powerful verse!

Best wishes,
/Kit

Thank you all for reading my poem, and for the support and the advice    This is just a poem that I had to write to get all my feelings down on paper, that helps me to slowly heal.

Take care,
Melissa Honeybee

I can relate to much of this...not about being empty so much but of being undeserving of ones love...rightly so.....yet he still loves...why???? when he should hate me so!
it does get better and you do deserved to be loved by somebody....we all need love without it we would surely die!!!

I appreciate the feelings and emotions you presented here.
Life is never easy when you have been around a negative or a critical person.  The things that your father told you were only a reflection of himself.  He looked inside himself and he was not happy or secure with who he was so he took it out on you.
I hope the day will soon come when you can reach within side yourself and appreciate and understand your own worth.
Thanks for writing this honest and lovely poem.     James

Melissa, you are not worthless.
Don't let anyone condition you to believe that.
It is too soul destroying.
Look into your heart and soul...see your beauty, love yourself.
Let others love you.
You are worthy. You just have to believe that... Love ya!

Love and hugs,
Lizzie

JulieAnn, James and Liz, thank you for understanding how I feel and how an abusive father can destroy your soul on many levels.  Thank you for the supportive words and advice, it's much appreciated.  In time, I may learn to love myself.  Writing poems such as this allows me to heal and slowly love myself again.  It's true in order for anyone to love me, I must first, love and accept myself, that will be a long, diffcult journey, but someday it will happen.  Thanks again!

Take care,
Melissa Honeybee

~Melissa
powerful poem! on many levels i can
relate, sadly enough. you are NOT
worthless. everyone is right, your
father in a moment of his own
insecurity and weakness took his
fustration and anger out on you. i
am so terribly sorry you have had
to endure this kind of pain. you are
most definitely worthy of love, and i
pray that you learn to completely love
yourself and learn to allow someone else
to do the same. we are all in your corner
girl!
take care.
