Awakening
Amy M. Kennedy

a calm summer breeze gently blows around me
peace i've never known gently caresses my soul
i clear my mind, and your face is all i see
in your arms i feel complete, whole

something grew from my heart
it started out as friendship, turned into so much more
tears stream down my face when we're apart
i've been in love, but it's never felt like this before

a stirring from deep inside
your beauty and the essence of who you are
has me wishing on falling stars
this love i can no longer hide

a radiance has spread, it's all over now
your smile is like golden rays of light
forever and always i'll love you, that is my vow
for an eternity i will want you, everyday and every night

"Don't be dismayed at goodbyes. A farewell is before you can meet again. And meeting again after a moment or a lifetime is certain for those who are friends."

"Fate exists but it can only take you so far,
Because once you're there
It's up to you to make it happen."

Amy, this is a wonderful poem about friendship and love. It's hard to cross over from friendship into love, but it is possible. Best of luck!
