THE TEAR

How deep a tear, that slithers down the cheek in silent  song
Hid for so long within life’s folds now falls where it belongs
It saw a summer garden and it saw a lover’s gift
It’s the unforgotten past and the future to be lived

It saw us come together and it watched the children grow
It kept the secret loveliness that only lover’s know
A splendid tear so long at peace would never have forseen
How fast would flow the sorrow from life’s most engrievious stream

For who could know the depth of love and who could guess the power
That binds the two of us together every living hour
The thread remains unbroken and the bonds forever true
One tear upon a lonely cheek is shed for only you

This is a tear of triumph, it is a tear of grief
It is a tear of wisdom, and of concience and belief
It cries from separation and it cries for lonelimess
It weeps the days we wasted, and it weeps for happiness

One tear contains a lifetime, a marriage and a past
Memories and promises, bitterness and laughs
But now , I shed a single tear because we’re going to part
It is the tear of love that falls upon my empty heart

My dear friend~
Your sweet message sweeps my heart with the beauty of the love you've known ...
and sorrow for the sadness to come.

'For who could know the depth of love and who could guess the power
That binds the two of us together every living hour'

May God in His infinite mercy look upon you both and grant you peace.
I love you, Tony and Elizabeth.

Elizabeth,

I can see your tear.  This is so touching and tender.  It is always hard to say good-bye to the ones we love.  All you can do is be thankful for the love you have known and hold tight to the memories.  I am sure you and Tony have several.  My thoughts and prayers are with you.  Great writing.

Elizabeth - I envy you and Tony for the wonderful life of love which has been blessed upon you.  Your tear of grief could not be such lest it be equally one of triumph... Wear it proudly, my friend... God Bless..

Thank you both for being so warm and loving. I guess the tear fell today when the doctor put a time frame on things. I don't live by time frames but by moments, and I wrote this during a moment as a tear was falling. It's not meant to be a sad poem, but I think tears have a lot of meaning behind them

Oh Liz, I don't know what to say. Cherish the love you have found in each other forever and always, for it can never perish. My prayers are with you both, as always.

....

So tender, a devotional poem this...
Liz, my thoughts are fixed on you and tony...as I echo all the feelings above. Wear the tear proudly, my friend. This tear signifies the essence of the love and personal trust and respect you both have shared for all the time, till now and will so forever...

Warm regards, sudhir

This is a lovely poem, Liz. Time is what you make of it and I know that the time you and Tony have left together will be the memories that warm your heart always. Keep the faith, tis up to God, not the doctors, how long Tony and you will be together. I love you Liz! Give my love to Tony too.

Love and hugs,
Lizzie
