I Miss You
Amy M. Kennedy

i miss you so much i could scream
why did you have to go away
the day you left you took my dream
of having a mom for the rest of my days

it's time like this that i need you
the pain, it cuts both ways
i've never since had someone in my life so true
dark surrounds me, no light, not even a ray

i try to be strong, and carry on
but some scars never leave
you were my life, and now you're gone
been six years now, hard to believe

its still so unreal to me
even after all these years
helps to know your in heaven
but even so here come the tears

one by one they fall down my face
and the memories come flooding back like a tidal wave
ironic that your memory much as it hurts
is my saving grace

i hope you are happy, i know you are free
i miss you and that is the simple fact
we'll be together again, that i believe
but now today, i want you back.

i miss you mom!
note to reader...sorry for the sadness of this.

~Please don't be sorry.  Never be sorry for your poetry.  It's from your heart and it's all we've got sometimes.  This is so heartfelt...truly. I wish I had more original words to put down here...but what I'm trying to say is that this poem was well expressed and so full of meaning,...it touched my heart. Please take care. *Peace.

Oh Amy, I'm so sorry for your loss.  It's so difficult to put these emotions to paper, and yet so often they are a release, for it gives us a moment's grace to reflect on all the wonderful memories that we have while penning them. You've expressed yourself beautifully in this verse.

Best wishes and HUGS to you Amy,
/Kit

Amy,

I just wanted to say I wish you all the best in this life.
I still have my mom, but lost my best friend 8 years ago so I kinda know what you are going through.

This poem brought back the memories and the tears

Great heartfelt writing by the way

 All my love,
Jeffrey

~normally i don't reply this much to my own work...but i REALLy wanted to tell you all how much I have appreciated your sweet replies, encouragement, and understanding. I am having a difficult time right now as it was around this time six years ago that my Mom passed away due to a heart attack. She was more than my Mom...she was my best friend too! I miss her terribly, and the only way I know how to work through that was to write. So thank you for responding and for reading! You guys truly are angels put on Earth!
Love ya,
Amy
