Earth 3rd Rock from the sun!!

I live on an island
in the middle of the sea
an island the natives
have shared with me

I love this place
so small and grand
I will miss this place
when i head for the mainland

i will have a quiet goodbye with it
down on the beach tonight
alone i'll walk in peace to know
it will always live in my heart

I will thank it for the memories
that it has created for me
I will wish it blessings for the future
that it will remain untamed

three years cane and went so fast
my time spent here will end at last
still this island
it's wonderful people
the tides that rush to shore
the boonie stomps
the fiends i've made will be with me ever more...
Thank you Guam
you have truely become my friend
no deception have you played
now I must go home......

JulieAnn, this is beautiful. What a way to remember your three-year home!

I'm leaving the cat a note
Quick call me a ferry boat-getting out of town!

JulieAnn~ My Dad was in the Navy and he and my Mom and my older brother were there for some time. We have lots of pictures of it. When I was in Okinawa I got the chance to spend a night in Guam. It is beautiful. This poem is sweet and I know why you'll miss it so.   -SEA

This is a beautiful description of Guam. I can tell how much this place means to you. Don't be so sad to leave, you will always have the memories.

Julie I was there two different occasions for a total of 6 weeks and I loved the beaches and the snorkeling and scuba diving.
Nice descriptive writing.   James
