Dearest husband chops onions, peppers for spicing,
pungent red, yellow, bell; slices strips of tender beef, dicing
celery, mushrooms, making homemade soup while I lie curled
in our quilt exhausted, depleted, aching, worn thin from the world.
~ ~ ~
I regard blearily from our motor home bed, while he meticulously tucks in
baby carrots, parsley, cauliflower sprouts, broccoli sprigs, his own
personal blend of spices, fresh chives, stuffing mix; smooth
melting cheese. He’s such a chef, and a magnificent
lover in the truest sense. My nose perks up,
relishing those familiar steamy warm
scents rising from the saucepan
sweetly tantalizing. Vapor
gathers on the RV
windows.
~ ~ ~
The chill autumn night gentles.
~ ~ ~
I know he's amazing; he watches
me gazing, my mind changing gears,
he holds the secrets of drying all my tears.
~ ~ ~
Tasting from a spoon, he brings a bowl; comes
to me, warm sapphire eyes shining; "here, honey, have
a bite" and he feeds us both by hand. He undersands. I have
not been home long; haven't eaten all day. My stresses just
overcame me and he cares. Taste buds perk me up.
His love warms my inner soul, and heals me.
I smile my heartfelt love back to him. I tell
him that no lady was ever loved
so dearly, and oh,
I love him so!

Aww...This was very very sweet...Smells like wonderful poetry to me.   I just have one question. Are you purposely trying to make me cry tonight? He he..At least it would be a happy cry.   This one has some tenderness that touched my soul!

Nothing can deter a poet, for he is actuated by pure love. Who can predict his comings and goings? "Thoreau"

Yep,

She's gone an done it again... I'm hungry... And your right Temptress, but those tears are from jalapenos drifting o'er the waves and you must of caught the scent, not to worry I'll try and send a kerchief, while I'm cooking, and now look I can't even tell if Rj's tears are over you or the darn jalapenos. And, Oh my lord, lookie too at Marge she's right in line for a cup of what ever it is that's being dished up... she must be a grocery girl from way back, what a butter cup. And here comes MaggieBleu and she's hunger too, I don't know if the pot is big enough for all of you. I need Maggie's Skipper to send over a couple or three pounds of clams there's so much I could do.., as I've been thinking for some time lately 'bout a chewy chowder, well maybe. And Brian, well he needs a pinch of something, and even if it isn't food... he's sure thought provoking when it comes to good cooking.

Now 'Lil Ms. Ducky,

When you post something on the net 'bout me cookin' I thinks you better look out a little for all dos hungry ladies just a looking ya knows good recipes are hard to come by dees daz, sigh.., don-cha-know..?

Sendin' me lovin' Ducky,

Your (lucky cooker, I mean keeper)

Dale

If I could paint a portrait, of this life in which I've led, and somehow sketch a story, of the visions in my head, I'd start out with a canvas, stretched tightly in a frame, and in the bottom corner, I'd leave room to sign my name.  (Michelle A. Bartley)

This was absolutely and delightfully delectible Rosemary!  This was a great pick-me-upper, with such warm and sentimental thoughts ... Such a "lucky" woman!!!

Best wishes,
/Kit
