Much too often, my life has changed,
So many times I’ve rearranged.
My small ship rocks a tempestuous sea,
I find no one’s spirit to comfort me.
I’m feeling old, I’m feeling old.
~
Each gain, each loss is grimly weighed,
As years crawl by; my hopes betrayed.
Too many lifetimes beyond my control;
Icebergs in darkness - each gashed open hole
Lets in the cold, lets in the cold.

P.S. Don't take me too literally.  My darling
husband is always near, and always cares.

Short, sad, and powerful.  Even so, I enjoyed reading it.

Nothing can deter a poet, for he is actuated by pure love. Who can predict his comings and goings? "Thoreau"

Rosemary~
Very lonely piece, very deep and intense.
I feel a sadness and long to put a smile back into your heart after reading this.
You have captured loss and the loneliness associated with it, here in this piece.

This was a beautifully descriptive way to express loneliness Rosemary, nicely penned.

Best wishes,

Rosemary, just popping in for a quick vist here and I came upon this. I still remain one of your biggest fans. This poem says so very much in so few words and boy does it ever pack a punch with it. Well done dear friend

Intense and brilliant in the way you put it and the setting for describing things in your own unique way is marvellous...

Rosemary, I liked this one...I am glad that your dear, darling husband is always near and cares for you a lot. I wish you too the best...

regards, sudhir
