~  Off He Rides  ~

Into the sunset, there he goes
He touched my soul, yet no one knows.
My path he crossed for just awhile
I loved his laugh, I loved his smile...

I was his secret & he was mine
Forbidden lovers, here in time.
Tenderness, I felt within
His arms so strong - It could have been...

It could have been Reality
Me with him & him with me.
Forever in my thoughts he'll stay
Off toward the sun, he rode today...

At least I got to say good-bye
He knew that he had helped me fly.
I'll smile though & not cry tears
He helped me overcome my fears...

Into the sunset, there he goes
He touched my soul, and no one knows.
With fondest memories of you Chad -
You gave me something I never had...

* Courage *

*From the deepest depths of my heart, I thank you sir.  Once again, I step out in faith, because of you.
You gave me courage to look tenderness & love straight in the eye, and not flinch.

Chad is indeed lucky to have one such as you to understand the gift he has given.  I think this gift you give back is just as great PFF.  Best wishes my lady

You had it all the time, just needed someone to open the door for you....

Beautiful and romantic poem to that special someone...

There is a song called "the chad who loved me", really there is. anyway sorry trailing off the point again.

At least I got to say good-bye
He knew that he had helped me fly.
I'll smile though & not cry tears
He helped me overcome my fears...

Into the sunset, there he goes
He touched my soul, and no one knows.
With fondest memories of you Chad -
You gave me something I never had...

a wonderful poem, I some how imagine a Minstrel  travelling through the lady singing about Chad and his gentle touch. Sorry just the way my crazy mind is working.
seriously a beautiful poem, the love of another person can have a powerful effect on us, we feel courage, strength, joy and faith. Even if they leave us part of what they gave stays with us.

I wonder... does Chad realize the impact that he had?
A life altering encounter and a fitting tribute.
I do so enjoy your writings...

Poet Femme,

Beautiful piece.  You owe much thanks to Chad for helping you gain courage to move on.  I too hope he knows all he has done for you and saw this tribute.

Thanks guys and girls for all the really nice replies.  To answer your wonderings, he does know the impact he had on me.  Luckily, we got to spend enough time together, to talk about alot of things deep inside us, and we both needed basically the same things...love, and understanding without judgement.  We both craved tenderness and someone who would listen.  The best thing about this man, was how he spoke to me, and his laughter.  We both helped eachother heal a bit before going our seperate ways....He was truly a blessing, and has seen my last 2 poems about him, this one, and "measuring my emptiness."  Thanks again to all of you!

Beautiful Gen.
What more can I say?
I understand perfectly as I too had a lady for but a short time who taught me again what it was to love and be loved...
Maybe not really taught... we always know, perhaps just a refresher on what we have forgotten or lost along life's path.
I have to agree with Amy, love will come again... my hopes for you, this time may it stay much longer...

Amy - - Thank you sweetie, you always have such wonderfully sweet things to say!  You're the best girl!  I'm so glad this touched you.

and Sea - - *sigh*  I know you know.  And yes, it serves to remind us that which we've forgotten...I knew you'd understand without judging.  Thank you.

With breathless sigh and wilted glance,
Once again you've broke my trance
And brought me back again to see
Our fantasy sometimes reality.

Beautifully done, sister...look forward to seeing you soon.

Oh, I can relate.  It being your secret makes it even more special.  I am glad you have had Chad in your life.  Wonderful poem.  Powerful, and straight from the heart.
