This is something that I was sitting here working on.  Any feedback would be gladly appreciated.

Here I sit...alone...
Just me, a pen, some paper,
and a million unbridled thoughts.
What shall I write about?
Old friends...lost loves...good times.
Or maybe passion...intrigue...betrayal.
I can tell a tale of most anything
when it's just me, a pen, and some paper.

I could tell of the time
I travelled the high seas
and met up with some pirates
who had their way with me.
I might share the time I fell in love
with a man who only knew how to leave 'em.
Oh, the pain that brought, the lessons it taught.
But, we'll save that story for another day.

Yes, I love quiet evenings like this.
Where I can sit in solitude and reminisce.
And suddenly it occurs to me that I am not alone.
As long as I have a pen...some paper...
and a million unbridled thoughts.

Ramblings of a true poet.....and so true. That's why writers are blessed....with our imaginations we are never truly alone. I enjoy this one very much

TA...

So true.....you are never alone as long as the thoughts keep coming.  You can go a million places with anyone you choose as long as you have that pen and paper.  Nice poem!!  I enjoyed it!!

Kit --  "A true poet"...Ah, the highest of compliments. Thank You!

Balladeer --  Most of my poems are just that...ramblings.  Some I toss...Some I keep...but all caused...by a lack of sleep!  Tonite is gonna be one of those sleepless nights I can tell.

JM --  I am so glad that you enjoyed it.  I do so find courage and comfort in my writing.

Lone Wolf -- Pen and paper are the most magical things a poet can have.  Thank you for reading my work!

Oh, I'm so glad you aren't asleep ...
Ramble on - ramble on.
This is of the magic midnight muses ...
keep listening and rambling.
Fear not .... I'm right here rambling too.

Tennessee, I missed this one, so I hope you don't mind that I've brought it back up for a re-read! What we writers are plagued with...don't you agree! LOL! [Wouldn't trade what goes on in my mind for anything...]

Yes, dear, do keep rambling, for the rambling of the poet is wine from the vinyard.  And what lovely rambling it is

Sunshine --  Thank you so much for bringing this back to the top.  This is one of my favorites because I was able to ramble on and on and call it poetry.  lol    I am glad that you enjoyed it.

Terry --  What a lovely response.  Thank you so much!  I hope you will read more of my work.

Marge --  My fellow rambler.     If I couldn't ramble in the midnight hours, I believe my muse and I would slowly go insane.
