I have an angel
she sits on my shoulder,
we've grown closer now
that I am older.
She comes with me
wherever I lead,
and lets me know when
to do a good deed.
She's followed me
through life,
the fun, the pleasure
the heartache and strife.
I never feel lonely
with angel beside me,
I know she's there,
to help and guide me.
I can feel her heart
as it is mine,
beating together
in the rhythm of time.

Lovely sentiments Lorraine ... you are one of the lucky ones to have an angel to guide and protect you ... this was delightful!

Best wishes,

~Lorraine
this was beautifully expressed. brought
a tear to my eye. i must be either
really emotional tonight or reading some
damn good poetry. i vote for the latter
i believe we all have an angel. it's just
a matter of believing in things we can't
see. thanks for sharing this.
take care.

Many of us write about having an "angel" watching over us, but I really liked how you had yours "sitting on your shoulder."  That made for a very tender image in my mind.  *sigh*  Very lovely piece here my dear.  Thank you for sharing....

~Lorraine,...this is such a cool poem.  The thought of a little angel on your shoulder seeing you through all you do is just wonderful.  Thank you for posting. Take care.

Lorraine~
You wrote of a little piece of my heart.
I always have an 'angel' sitting on my
shoulder ... are we lucky or what?
Love this.
