         Coffeshop of dreams

The places we have been, the things we have done
The memories collected through time are gone
A warm summerbreeze, a day in the sun
The lovely fields where we used to run
Thoughts of revolution over cups of tea
We had all the answers, you and me

The things we´ve learned will never go away
our souls so young and free
I hope that you decide to stay
in that coffeshop of dreams with me.

Everything was simple then, consequence unknown
A sigarette is all you need to own
There was no tomorrow, no yesterday
We had no place called home, no place to stay
Time unexisting, space shared and treasured
This is how the meaning of life is measured

The things we´ve learned will never go away
our souls so young and free
I hope that you decide to stay
in that coffeshop of dreams with me.

Lessons learned through time, life´s bitter tears
The pain and the pleasure of all these years
The color of the sky is not always grey
The future is open wide, not yesterday
I´m glad we talked, that you made me see
We are finally one now, my soul and me...

Ask me how to live your life, and this to you I´ll say: make your choises true and wise, so that when tomorrow will arise, you´ll smile at yesterday...

Very nicely written Nando, and a lovely flow!  I particularly liked the way you captured these lines above. Well done!

Best wishes,

Nando~
I enjoyed a cup of rich-blend
with you in this 'coffee shop'
of your memories.

Well-done.

nando, your poem just reminded me of some great memories I had of one of my closest friends. we used to go to a cafe and chta. THe place seemed like heaven we shared our intimate secrets with each other and enjoyed each others company. thanks for taking me down memory lane. wonderful poem. really enjoyed this one.

Oh nando --  This made me yearn for the simpler days...sitting in a booth with a cup of java and a friend.  The memories are so sweet!  Thanks!!
