Love possesses many different hues
From a bright red to deep blues
Feelings dictate the changing shades
Time may cause the colors to fade

Love usually starts out as pink
When one prepares to drink
For the first time from this cup
With the curiosity of a pup

Love can turn the brightest red
When you can't keep that someone out of your head
Just a look can make you blush
As your blood flows with a rush

Love can take on a pigment of passion
I imagine it to be purple in fashion
It burns with the intensity of a fire
Only one way to quench those desires

Love no longer aflame carries a blue tint
Because on your heart is its print
The mark of a feeling so sweet
You were almost burned by the heat

Love has many other tones
One is always with you even when you're alone
Look around and you will see
All the splendid colors that love can be

Friends are friend forever if the Lord's the Lord of them and a friend will not say never cause the welcome will not end.

LW a wonderful poem very coulourful. I always wondered what colour love was.

Love has many other tones
One is always with you even when you're alone
Look around and you will see
All the splendid colors that love can be

"Take nothing but pictures. Leave nothing but footprints. Kill nothing but time".

Baltimore Grotto

"To be nobody-but-yourself-in a world which is doing its best night and day, to make you everybody else - means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting."

E.E Cummings.

Faster- manic street preachers

I am an architect, they call me a butcher I am a pioneer, they call me primitive I am purity, they call me perverted
Holding you but I only miss these things when they leave

I am idiot drug hive, the virgin, the tattered and the torn Life is for the cold made warm and they are just lizards
Self-disgust is self-obsession honey and I do as I please A morality obedient, only to the cleansed repented

*I am stronger than Mensa, Miller and Mailer
I spat out Plath and Pinter I am all the things that you regret
A truth that washes that learnt how to spell

The first time you see yourself naked you cry Soft skin now acne, foul breath, so broken He loves me truly this mute solitude I'm draining I know I believe in othing but it is my nothing

Sleep can't hide the thoughts splitting through my mind Shadows aren't clean, false mirrors too many people awake If you stand up like a nail then you will be knocked down I've been too honest with myself I should have lied like everybody else * chorus
So damn easy to cave in, man kills everything (x4)

WOW Lone Wolf,

your writing just keeps getting better and better

I know you challenged me to write on this subject, however I certainly could never have done it as well as you have

This is beautiful L.W. it reminds me of a scene in the movie "Mask" when he's showing the blind girl what color things are....touched my heart just like this does.  Thank you so much for sharing your colors with us!

oh *sigh* this was beautiful. it
reminded me sorta of that celine dion
song "colour of my love." at least it
fit with the title. beautiful way of
describing love, you did it so
tenderly. lovely just lovely!

Very very lovely, although I've always seen Blue as a wonderfully positive color.  Kind of interesting thinking of it as something different.  Very creative piece my dear!

Oh this has been laid down with the perfection of art.....With many colors...

It takes only a minute to get a crush on someone, an hour to like someone, a day to love someone, but it takes a lifetime to forget someone.

Lone Wolf-

I love the way you put everything into a visual context.  Feelings have colours and vice-versa.  You captured them very well and put them together into a fine piece.
Well done!

Trew.

And all the time your face came back to haunt me.

T.A....Thank you, I try!

Amy....very happy to see you enjoyed it.  I know you can relate to these colors my friend.

Poet Femme....Thanks, hmmm.....blue as positive.  I like that.  Nice viewpoint!

First_Night...Perfection...wow.  Thank you!!

Irish Rose....They just seem to fit that way.  Glad you liked it.

Spit Fire....Yes!  A million aspects.  You are welcome for sharing.  Thank you for the kind words my friend.

Trew....Thanks!!  I think we overlook the visual context a lot when we write.  So I am trying to see things differently.  I am happy you liked it and thanks for reading.

Ethome....Thanks....just came to me one day.
