            Mere Words

I searched among the card displays,
To see if I could find,
A little something that would say
Just what was on my mind.

However there was not a one,
     That captured it just right,
For no one else can understand
Just what I’d like to write.

  I even find it difficult
To try to write it down,
For how do I portray to you,
The love that I have known?

I close my eyes and what I see,
     Is someone I adore;
  A person who is beautiful,
     Write down into their soul.

  Mere words cannot describe
     The many qualities you show,
The love and caring nature that
You share with those who know.

  Your kind and gentle temperament,
     Your sweet angelic smile,
  Your softly spoken sentiments,
     That reach across the miles.

Your smile and laugh that sparkle with
    The softness of your sighs,
The way your face lights up a room ...
    That twinkle in your eye.

The loving gestures through the years,
     That quickly come to mind,
For always you’ve a gentle word
To calm and soothe I find.

I struggle and I search to try
To find some words a’new ...
  And yet I cannot capture
All the things that make you “you”.

  I shall therefore, be satisfied
     That you must simply “know”,
Just how I feel about you,
For with words I cannot show.

Words fail me to describe how well this was done, Kitt!

Don't need a card rack ...
with words like this from your heart.
You did it just right.

Kit there are some things that words can not describe fully only hint at and believe love is one of those things. All the same you did a wonderful job in portraying that intangible emotion we call love.

"Take nothing but pictures. Leave nothing but footprints. Kill nothing but time".

Baltimore Grotto

"To be nobody-but-yourself-in a world which is doing its best night and day, to make you everybody else - means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting."

E.E Cummings.

Faster- manic street preachers

I am an architect, they call me a butcher
I am a pioneer, they call me primitive
I am purity, they call me perverted
Holding you but I only miss these things when they leave

I am idiot drug hive, the virgin, the tattered and the torn
Life is for the cold made warm and they are just lizards
Self-disgust is self-obsession honey and I do as I please
A morality obedient, only to the cleansed repented

*I am stronger than Mensa, Miller and Mailer
I spat out Plath and Pinter I am all the things that you regret
A truth that washes that learnt how to spell

The first time you see yourself naked you cry
Soft skin now acne, foul breath, so broken
He loves me truly this mute solitude I'm draining I know I believe in nothing but it is my nothing

Sleep can't hide the thoughts splitting through my mind
Shadows aren't clean, false mirrors too many people awake If you stand up like a nail then you will be knocked down I've been too honest with myself I should have lied like everybody else

WOW

Kit, this is really an excellent poem...
Found myself floating away when I read it, or should I say when I experienced it. Because thats what it was, an experience...

Really good work....

I love it Kit - this should be a card itself - to remind someone special that they should know how we feel about them - they should already know it - but take time to remember... cute, very cute..
