This is a later night, can't sleep, minds racing, kind of poem.

You showed up at my house today looking proud and tall.

You ask if you could come in,
I opened the door and steped back as you walk back into my life again.

You sat there looking at me with your big brown eyes,
All I would think about was the hurt, the pain, the lies.

You said how you have missed me and still loved me,
I knew in my heart that we were never ment to be.

I asked why had you come,
You said you have been feeling a little bumed.

You told me that you had been thinking about the way things should have been,
I though to myself "I'm not going down this path again."

You just sat there waitting for me to reply,
In my mind I remember all the time you made me cry.

"You told me you would always care" you said with a grim face,
I answered you saying "I do, but that doen't fill this empty space."

"Please forgive me" you beged.

As I looked into your eyes, one lonely tear ran down your cheek.
You sat there hoping I would say something.

Then the peices that you once shattered became whole again, and I felt
nothing.

Greeneyes: This is a very deep, emotional poem. If someone makes you smash into a thousand pieces, its good that the pieces at least came back together and nothing was felt again. Although the void may take a while to fill, you'll get through it. God...I sound like some great relationship expert. Don't worry about me. Your heart will know what is right in the end ok.

Once again, great piece.

When somebody breaks your heart, it hurts so much, and you just want closure. You just want to get back up and get on with your life. I've been in the position where you kind of yo-yo through an obviously busted relationship, hoping to repair the old feelings. It never really works, well, I suppose in rare cases it might... but usually never does. Glad you saw the light, and didn't let him win.

Is it really better to feel nothing?  Think about this for a moment.  This means that you become indifferent to the situation, you stop caring altogether.  But you obviously still feel something, your writing points this out.  What is it that you feel now?

I'm with Allan on this one, he seems like a smart guy. Feeling nothing can't be good. Having a biased opinion on something that obviously means a lot to somebody else or even you is not good. You're denying your God given right to feel.....hopefully things fit together in the end.
Nice poem!

Wow this brought me down memory lane... I can totally relate! I wasn't as smart as you were, however... I ALMOST took the guy back... It took me a little while to realize it wouldn't work. You made the right choice and it sounds like you healed   Good work!

That is a good point Allan....In the poem, when I said I felt nothing......In other words the pain had ended. It was like I was now content with things and everything that happened in this realtionship. I don't know if that explains thing better or not.....Anyways, thanks for your replys.

I was here in this EXACT situation only last week...  I know exactly how you feel...  Michael walked back into my life again after being gone for a while and he wanted me to tell him all is still the same...  I couldn't tell him anything!!  I hope everything works out for you as things are still a confused mess for me!!
