With her music blaring.
The deftones and Godsmack
ring through out the air.
The spray cans littered across
the covered hardwood floor.
The dull shaking of the room
from the bass of the music.
The intoxiting smell of spray paint
she had come to love.
It was all that represented her.
She felt safe while graffiting her room.
Block, spray,block, spray, block
over and over again a pattern ,
a rythm which she used so
nothing would drip.
What did she care,
if her parents disapproved of her.
Their archtectual digest house
was so fake so impersonal.
A prison. She needed to experess
herself but her parents wouldnt
ever let her do that, no..
she had to be fake, a phony just tlike them.
The art of graffiti, swirls through
her veins although she knows its
only a matter of time
before someone comes
along with her mother
and repaints her walls
Standing in the middle of the
room, noticing all her tags and
designs,she feels proud
this is her
no matter what they say
Nirvana starts to play
"smells like teen spirit"
that is exaclty what it is
her spirit...

We all have the need to express ourselves, and seems like there is always someone coming along with a can of paint to hide it. Great vibes from this one, Regina. Thanks for posting.

Ina: I can totally feel what the emotion in this poem like it is looking into a mirror for me. Breaking free against things that appear right is sometimes only the way to truely free yourself.

Fantastic Work.

Great thoughts here, I like the way this is done, it's really good!    Just think, if they paint over it, you have another chance to leave you mark on the walls!< !signature-->

Graffiti is perhaps the most powerful form of art, because it is so universally disapproved of!  People frown on it before even reading it, so only those truly deserving can even get the message!
By the way, you have good taste in music!  ^_^

Nice work. You can tell that YOU are truly behind this one. It shares your true feelings. Very impressive poem.
