In an upside-down garden

0 posted 2000-12-26 03:57 PM

Stooping to pick up the pieces,
of my sad forgotten life,
I turn one into Struggle,
and the other into Strife.
Two pieces that have shattered,
my simple heart and soul,
two people, stuck together,
making each other whole.
Picking up the pieces,
of my shattered years,
filled with smiles,
laughter and tears.
Picking up the pieces,
I wish I could forget,
all the dangerous places,
I wish I never met.
Walking down the street,
cars with tinted windows,
teenage boys on bikes,
knives hidden in their clothes.
Wishing I could just turn back,
to the Friday before that day,
to save on single life,
that was taken away.
To save us all a shedded tear,
and one less goodbye,
to save us all from pain and fear,
and from wondering why.
Picking up the pieces,
but not opening up to say,
that my life would definatly be different,
if it hadn't been for that one day.

---------------------------------------------------
Just a simple poem. Happy Holidays!

I can't see at all. Even if I could it would all be great, to put your picture on my wall, it reminds me that it's not so bad, it's not so bad.

This poem was beautiful.  While I was reading it almost brought tears to my eyes.  You are very talented.  I am so glad you are now picking up the pieces, and seems as though you are moving on.  Very beautiful work.  I love it.

Lakewalker: thanks much!

Shugar: I would only want to change one thing. I would make sure that the court system not screw up and it would prevent three deaths. Thanks for replying!

sweetstuff: thanks much!

acire and Dopey: Don't think I don't have a reason for that now, ya hear me? Okay, I got on the computer once over break, posted two poems. Then I had to leave, and I wanted to make sure that the people could read my poems, plus I wanted to put them in my library and so I posted a message almost exactly twenty minutes later. thanks you guys!

Elizabeth: Thanks so much for reading and replying!

This poem almost makes me feel like I am reading a mystery... you are good at communicating feelings of despair and sorrow.  Good luck picking up the pieces.
