I sit here watching you
Knowing that it isn't you
Knowing that you don't care
That this little life
Is just like you in every way.
He looks like you
He acts like you
He eats, sleeps and drinks like you,
He is you 19 years ago,
But he is not you,
He is better than you...
He is also me,
The opposite to you...
He will grow up not knowing you
Only knowing that you were here
And left for want of a better life,
He will grow up loving life
He will grow up knowing the truth
And that the truth is...
There are people in the world who love us
And there are people who don't...
He is going to be a good person
And love people for who they are
Not what they are.
He is only a few months old,
But I know
He is going to be a good person,
Unlike you!!!

Guys this was written a few months ago now...  I found it last night when I was cleaning up.  Tell me what you think...

This is a really tough situation, but you seem determined to make life better for your son. You describe your feelings well. Thanks for sharing

Melster:

This is a rough choice. You can tell you love you son and also feel your anger toward his mom in this poem. Good luck in the future.
Good poem!

Its good that you have everything set in how you plan on raising your son. I wish you the best of luck.

Very good!! Sometimes not having that parental figure around just helps more than it could hurt. Sometimes it will be better that way... it's good you put the child first.
