Physically? VA.... Mentally? I'm not quite sure

There’s a knot in my stomach,
and a tear in my eye.
I can't sleep,
and I don't know why.

Engulfed in sadness,
I lay in my bed.
Haunted by thoughts,
That are spinning in my head.

A reason to live,
The strength to fight.
I need these things,
To get through this night.

My teddy is held tight,
My blankets are up to my chin.
I turn the radio up…
I refuse to give in.

I try to take slow deep breaths,
And have no fear.
In only a few short hours,
Morning will be here.

This was great. I hope all is well though. Doesn't sound like a healthy thing, this knot.

insomnia,we all face one time or more in our life. The feeling and words were powerful full of impact. I shall hope to see more.

I love this stanza....Don't we all need a reason?  You show such emotion in your poems.  This is really well done, and I'd love to read more of your work in the future.  Thanks for sharing this
