The Knight and the Poet:

Sitting on a stump one day
Writing in a poet's bliss,
And soon enough a valiant knight came
To give the poet a death kiss.

"You claim yourself witty,
And intellectual too,
But sir, I must admit
That I will kill you."

"But why, oh knight,
Kind Sir Knowetry
Want to slay me
When All I do is poetry?"

No answer was given.
The knight raised his sword,
And all the poet did
Was pray to his lord.

Cut in half
The knight will surely know it
That now he has not one,
But two witty poets!

I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust.

I hate your socks. I'd like to burn them!

I cannot even dissuade you of brutality
when you bring forth in duality
such poetic wit times two...

If I know you, there's probably some type of deeper meaning behind this, however I only see it's face value... Still I really enjoyed it.  It read well and made me grin.  thx

Ok the knight symbolizes reason and the concrete world. The world that says "it HAS to be done in this certain way"......"2+2=4".....and the Poet symbolizes creativity and imagination. He symbolizes fantasy and wonderment. Well I just love the poet.
OK so anyway the knight tries to kill off the poet......the poet is not a fiesty one so he just prays.....Sir KNOWETRY....cuz he knows it all, all of his reason and math and bla bla bla.....kills the poet...slices him in half.
But imagination is immortal, the poet is immortal. He's an concrete persona of an abstract feeling, the feeling of artistic expression.
So now instead of having a dead poet......he has two witty poets, alive and well....and creating even more. Because in the eyes of those who do not see and try to put down our creative expression, we just create more. We just revolt more with the ways of our heart.
And so.........this is the explanation.

I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust.
