There is an anger in her for a world she filled with hate
for every life that passed her in the writing of her fate
for all the need that filled her and the self no one would take
all the hope that whispered "you'll be loved for your own sake.

The castles she created now destroyed in mindless rage
the crystal roads she painted now a blackness on each page
the Knight she wrote in wonder was erased with anger's sword,
but dream still tied her to him with a demon hangman's cord.

Where love had been her partner hatred found its new abode
rage-filled wish to shame him for the lies that were her road
a battle fought within her as she struggled to deny
the woman she created was a figment of her lie.

And hatred seared her, raging, for that woman that she was
laid bare in painted starkness stripped of misty gauze
created as salvation from a self she wouldn't face
forgotten in the gardens of the fantasy she'd trace.

Trapped by feared rejection, so filled with desperate want
stalked by daily terror of a truth that ever haunts
screaming in the silence of a mind that cannot flee
from woman fate created in sadistic revelry.

Her everyday companion now despair she can't control
her nightly flitting shadows hate-filled demons of her soul
that force the anger in her as it burns in naked flame
the only true direction toward the self she can now name.

A stabbing want impales her on the steely blade of need
to feel a touch of passion that would quench the fiery seed.
Anguish washes o'er her for the chains upon her mind
twisted in her essence that demands a love that binds.

And hope she tried to gather is just one more fantasy
that robed her in a mantle of a woman she can't be.
In silent pleas unspoken angusihed mind begs just one lie
to break the ties that hold her to a world in which she dies

Welcome to the family! Wow....this is so well written and though it's very dark in it's tone, I did enjoy it very much. Each line drips with anger and despair. May I ask if it's written about you? Sounds like someone's mother - like a story of her life that hasn't worked out the way she wants. How close am I here?

By the way, I do look forward to reading more from you. And please check your email for a special message. And if you have any questions, please ask!

Welcome to PASSIONS!!!
A wonderful first post and i did love the darkness in this poem.
Great job!

I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust.

I hate your socks. I'd like to burn them!

Your poem was really rad. It's one of those writings that just rips your guts out... that's the only way I can describe it. Amazing work.
