Darkness surrounds me
I call out and no one answers
A blade cuts through my heart,
   through my soul
So this is what it feels to be truly
   alone
"It is all your fault."
I never should've trusted anyone
I should've realized that I would
   just be hurt again

Maybe I was never meant to be born
Yes, my whole life was one big
   mistake
One action and all will be done
No more people to care about
No more being hurt time and time
   again
Life will resume as if I never was
   there

But here are still a few whom I
   can rely on
And even though I've let my defenses
   down so many times
I'm not letting that happen again
I'm not going to be hurt anymore
Too many times have I let that happen
And each and every time, I've been put
   down once again
I'm not going to let anyone too close
For then I might start caring again

Welcome to Passions Suteki!

We are very happy you have decided to join our community of poetry friendship. We look forward to having you share your efforts with us!

This is a very dark and emotional first post,  you've expressed your thoughts well in this piece. I assume the "blade" is figurative in the first verse, as in the end, you are somewhat positive, though pensive. I do hope I interpreted correctly and that you are doing OK.

Please note that we do have guidelines which we enforce regarding poetry depicting suicide, so should any future poem raise cause for concern in that regard, we will let you know. We care a great deal about the health and well-being of all our members, and we are pleased to include you in this grouping.

I hope to read more of your poetry and your responses to our wonderful family of poets! (check your e-mail for a special message)

Best wishes,
/Kit

have seen a great light;
on those living in the land of the shadow of death
a light has dawned.
