He called her just the other day.
She told him she couldn't talk.
That speaking with him again,
could tear her heart apart.

He begged for her to listen,
he promised not to cry.
All he wanted was one chance,
to revive what they'd let die.

They sat there on the phone,
trying to stay calm.
These two; they attempted to right the wrongs,
they'd worked so hard to accomplish.

She sobbed a little, and then she spoke,
Saying this is just too hard to do.
She refused to listen to his pleading,
she knew it would do no more for them.

Then she told him good bye,
good luck in all he does...
"Maybe we'll meet again someday,
When it's a better time for us."

This had my attention throughout the whole thing as I anticipated the result of the call.  Great writing, I liked it.

Hey this was really good. I was surprised because it applies to my life a lot. I liked it tons.

You're so talented! I love to read your work, it's like an ever-unfolding adventure.
